Nowella's Clothes
I hear you ask "Where did Nowella get the blue sneakers, the bandana, and the hat of bees?"
Well Nowella and the hat of bees is in another story, where she slept with bees whose buzz kept her warm. The hat you are looking at is not of bees, but of burdocks. She invented it herself, but had first found a use for the tenacious seeds, as a fastener in lair building, a thing she learned from beavers , not from her mother who had always used natural occurig shelters. The beavers had been more approachable than the bees and very enganging. She lived with them for days a a time, but there quaerters were just too wet for a bear, even for a diving bear, which she was. Nowella brought lair building to something of an art , even though she would sometimes only occupy her shelters for a single sleep. Of course, with bears, a sleep can be a very long time. So it was in one of those constructions that she learned to used the burdocks as fastensers , and it wasn't long before she adapted them to their other obvious uses. |
