Artist's Statement

The paper mosaics are made by cutting through two pieces of paper simultaneously, and then insetring and taping th cut-out into the primary sheet. Being a fanatic re-cycler, I incorpoate the scraps on the floor from the last artistic output. They become essential pieces in my new work.

The world around me, with its myriad of visual manifestations, provides me with initial departure points, but ultimately, compositions are aobut some inneer vision, where shapes and colors emerge sponaneously and subconsciously.

My wood sculptures are also constructed of re-cycled elements, I.E an old fence, a piano leg, a broken piece of farm equipment. Sometimes the fragment assumes too much authority and gets hacked into more subservient pieces, other times the predominant image prevails, and I build the entire sculpture around it.
